Ravne na Koroškem

2016 – permanent public art installation

A sculpture designed for a residential neighborhood in Ravne na Koroškem – a steel town in the northern Slovenia – offered as a way of drawing out the town’s history of mass housing. A prefabricated concrete cubic unit of typical residential housing developed in the 1950s is replaced by a set of smaller modular steel walls, all connecting at 60- or 30-degree angles. The result of such geometry is a playful, sprawling growth of a structure, creating unpredictable spaces and proposing different ways of dwelling.
